Ian Debono (he/him)
Born and raised in San Francisco, Ian Debono graduated from The Juilliard School in 2023 with a BFA in Dance under the direction of Alica Graf Mack. While at Juilliard, he performed works by Ohad Naharin, Medhi Walerski, Paul Singh, Amy Hall Garner, Norbert De La Cruz III, Spenser Theberge, and Jermaine Spivey, among others. In 2019, he graduated from the Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts High School, where he trained with Gregory Dawson and Arturo Fernandez, while he attended the San Francisco Academy of Ballet under the direction of Richard Gibson and Zory Karah. Previously, he has worked with Oakland Ballet Company, West Edge Opera, and Les Arts Florissants, while currently, he is a member of A Point 5, Obremski Works, Chamber Dance Project, and The Metropolitan Opera. In his free time, Ian enjoys playing guitar and creating music, and in 2022, he has had the pleasure of contributing both his guitar playing and dancing to Spenser and Jermaine’s Juilliard New Dances creation, The Close-ers.
